Interesting Facts about the Ageratum
- Also known as floss flower
- Native to Mexico and Central America
- Normally grows between 15 and 30 cm but can grow close to 1 meter in height
- 40 - 60 species
- Its’ colours range in blue, pink, lavender or white.
- The name is derived from the Greek word a geras, meaning non-aging - referring to the long-lasting nature of the flowers

The Ageratum is an annual plant that is normally used as a bedding plant. Each flower cluster consists of 5 – 15 tubular florets.
This plant is fairly easy to care for and grows relatively quickly, making it the perfect addition for beginner gardens. All parts of this plant are poisonous and not only when ingested. The plant has spines/sharp edges that when not handled carefully, might cause skin irritation and/or allergic reactions. It’s unfortunately not safe to have around your fur babies.
